Finally someone posted the specs of the 4890. Its actually a higher clocked RV770 (4870). The HD4890 comes with a core clock of 850 mhz and a memory clock of 3900 mhz gDDR5. Its a bit higher then the 4870 which comes with a 750 mhz core clock and a 3600 mhz memory clock.

The rumours went off the worlds because someone has put the gpu on the motherboard and tested it with GPU-Z. The Graphic card comes with a dualslot cooler which kinda looks like the HD2900XT cooler.

Furthermore we still dont know what the RV790 is? I wonder if it'll be the next good graphic card of AMD/ATI.

There is a rumour going round the communities. The rumour is about the 4890/RV790. Some say that the RV790 is the HD4890, others say that the RV790 chip is a difrent chip which comes out later.

The HD4890 is most probabelly a HD4870 only at 40nm and is likely to be 20 percent faster then the 4870.

Some communities say that the RV790 doesnt excist but other say it does and linking to the PCI - SIG Link page were the RV790 is shown.

Whatever it will be, we will most likely see in the future right here at Almalaks.

As you guys all might know the core i7 is out for a while now. The Core i7 is the new processor of intel which is 25% more powerfull then the core 2 architecture on the same clock speed.

The Core i7 has also got a couple of advantages, considering it has more instructions which can help programmers speed up there application.

Intel released three alternatives of the Core i7:

-Intel Core i7 920 - 2.66 Ghz
-Intel Core i7 940 - 2.93 Ghz
-Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition - 3.2 Ghz

The prices are ranging from 260 euro's for the 920 to 910 euro's for the 965 Extreme Edition.

The Core i7 also changed the socket. They fit in the new 1366 pins socket. The motherboard are highly expensive because at the moment there is only one chipset that can handle Core i7. The intel X58 chipset is the only one at the moment that is compatible with the Core i7.

The motherboard manufacturers have made a couple of X58 boards for the core i7. Sadly intel has a high price tag for the X58 chipset so the manufacturers cant make the motherboards cheaper then 180 euro's.

The motherboards that are made are highly strong and the coming of the P55 should make everything cheaper for the people that cant afford high priced bords.

The good thing is that AMD is coming closer and closer to intel thanks to the phenom 2 which is a really powerfull cpu.
